The European Union Fee issued a statement Monday saying they’ll finish six years of rule of regulation proceedings introduced towards Poland. President of the Fee Ursula von der Leyen congratulated the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, in what she known as a fruits of Poland’s diligent work and unwavering dedication to reform.
The Fee initiated proceedings underneath Article 7 of the European Union Treaty towards Poland in 2017, which offers mechanisms to deal with violations of EU values by member states. The Article 7 process includes a number of levels, together with an acknowledgment of the breaches inside a state, recognition of the intense nature of the breach from all different governments and, lastly, a vote on sanctions. The process was initiated towards Poland in 2017,when it was underneath the Regulation and Justice (PiS) authorities.
