The United Nations Help Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Monday released a report condemning the Taliban’s use of corporal punishment and the loss of life penalty in Afghanistan. The UN says the Taliban imposed “lashings and different beatings, amputations and executions by taking pictures, beheading and hanging” between 2010 and 2021 earlier than taking on Afghanistan’s authorities.

In line with the UN the Taliban have punished adultery, “working away from residence,’ theft,
homosexuality, consuming alcohol, fraud and drug trafficking” with lashings. As well as, the UN experiences that adultery has been punished with the loss of life penalty, which worldwide human rights laws solely permits the loss of life penalty for ‘essentially the most severe crimes.’

The UN has repeatedly advocated for human rights in Afghanistan. They make requires violations to be ‘investigated’ and victims to ‘have entry to justice.’ In a report launched in July 2022 the UNAMA acknowledged that between 14th-Fifteenth August, 17 people had been executed within the province of Kandahar. On the twenty second of February a former ALP officer was discovered shot lifeless after being arrested by the ‘de facto authorities.’ All clear indications of the acute human rights violations which can be happening in Afghanistan.

Final Friday the UN released an announcement on Afghanistan authorities ban on Afghan ladies from working. With a name for support operations and a reiteration of the dedication to guard the Afghan individuals.

The council of foreign relations has described the Taliban as an ‘Islamic fundamentalist group.’ Who threaten Afghan’s ‘civil and political rights.’ This finished by a crackdown on demonstrations, intimidating and limiting press freedoms and utilizing corporal punishments.
