The Sudanese paramilitary Fast Help Forces (RSF) Saturday introduced that they’re ready to return a gaggle of captured Egyptian soldiers who had been conducting coaching workouts in northern Sudan. The RSF acknowledged that they are going to cooperate in returning the troopers who “surrendered with out resistance” in Merowe, positioned between the Sudanese capital Khartoum and Sudan’s border with Egypt, amid combating between the RSF and the Sudanese military.

The RSF captured the battalion of Egyptian troopers on Saturday, releasing a video of the captured troops through social media. The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Armed Forces, Gharib Abdul Hafez Gharib, issued a statement shortly after stating the Egyptian troops had been partaking in coaching with their counterparts in Sudan after they had been captured. He confirmed that coordination with the RSF is underway to soundly hand over the troopers to the Egyptian authorities.

Fighting between Sudan’s navy and the RSF broke out Saturday and has continued for 3 days, with a three-hour ceasefire agreed upon by either side on Sunday. The weekend’s combating follows rising tensions over the RSF’s integration into the Sudanese navy. Violence between the 2 sides has elevated in some densely-populated areas of Sudan, resulting in civilian casualties and deaths.

Regardless of calls from worldwide powers, together with america and China, to finish the violence, the combating in Sudan continues.
