Student union revokes club status of pro-Palestinian group after Canada university threatens funding cuts

McGill College’s scholar union announced Monday that its Board of Administrators made a break up resolution to revoke the membership standing of the pro-Palestinian group Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) after sustained stress from the college administration and threats of funding cuts.

In a letter sent to College students’ Society of McGill College (SSMU) President Dymetri Taylor on July 10, the college delivered a 60-day ultimatum to sever connections with SPHR by deregistering the membership.
