Russian president Vladimir Putin accused mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin of treason on Saturday because the latter’s forces claimed the southern metropolis of Rostov-on-Don.

“What we face is certainly treason. Extreme ambitions and private pursuits have led to betrayal — the betrayal of their very own nation, of their very own nation, and what’s extra, of the trigger for which Wagner troops fought and died alongside [alongside other Russian soldiers],” Putin said in a speech to the nation.

By means of the Telegram accounts of his press service and the Wagner Group, Prigozhin has lashed out on the Russian management over the Kremlin’s remedy of the Russian folks — navy personnel and civilians alike.

In a comment following Putin’s tackle, the Wagner Group accused Putin of prioritizing the pursuits of Russia’s ultra-wealthy — himself apparently included — over the pursuits of Russia’s troopers. “What have you ever given to the battle veterans? 3,700 rubles a month? Why received’t you reply the veterans’ questions? Why is it that you simply solely see your individual issues — how one can defend Moscow and Rublyovka [ed: a wealthy suburb outside of Moscow known for its sprawling mega mansions]? … What number of fighters have died in order that you would stay in your mansions?”

It is a creating story.
