The Kansas Metropolis Board of Police Commissioners has denied claims by former KCPD Lawyer Ryan McCarty, that the division denied public data requests and funneled legal proof away from prosecutors, Peggy Lowereports for KCUR. The Board acknowledged that McCarty’s allegations have been inaccurate and in violation of his moral duties. The Board’s assertion adopted an investigation that was launched in December 2021 after Mayor Quinton Lucas known as the accusations “troubling.” McCarty’s lawyer, Tom Porto, stated the Board’s assertion was an try and retaliate towards his consumer. McCarty has additionally filed a lawsuit towards the KCPD for unjust firing and additional retaliation because of his whistleblower complaints.
