India opposition leader stopped on way to visit violence-hit areas of Manipur

Indian opposition chief, Rahul Gandhi, was stopped by native police Thursday on his strategy to study the state of affairs within the violence-struck northeastern state of Manipur. The 53 year-old was touring to Churachandpur district, which is among the most affected areas in ongoing violent clashes.

Gandhi’s convoy was halted at Bishnupur, round 20 km away from the state capital metropolis of Imphal.
