The laws creates a brand new offense for firing a gun in public, permits prosecutors to extradite people for misdemeanor offenses and grants extra flexibility to judges in holding people with previous violent offenses in jail pending trial for brand new violent crimes.
One other invoice handed on Tuesday permits Metropolitan Police Division officers to interact in automobile chases. The MPD beforehand interpreted native statute as mandating a no-pursuit coverage.
