The Colorado Fee on Legal and Juvenile Justice, a 30-member panel that suggested the state legislature on prison justice coverage for nearly 20 years, was disbanded on Sunday by the Democratic-controlled Basic Meeting, Jesse Paul and Elliott Wenzler report for The Colorado Solar . Whereas the fee led the latest overhaul of the state’s prison code and helped introduce payments to the legislature, progressive Democrats criticized it for missing racial range and being too favorable to prosecutors. Advocates for prison justice reform celebrated the fee’s disbandment. Some lawmakers fear {that a} substitute for the fee shall be too partisan.
